About Barry Haarde
Barry Haarde is 50 years old, has severe hemophilia A, and is a 35+ year survivor of both HIV and hepatitis C. He also suffers from peripheral neuropathy and has a 16-year-old total knee replacement. Barry has served on the boards of the Lone Star Chapter and the Committee of Ten Thousand. He has completed four bicycle tours across the United States in a fundraising effort for Save One Life, an organization devoted to assisting persons with hemophilia in developing nations who lack access to factor and basic medical necessities. Barry devotes all of his efforts on behalf of the hemophilia community to his brother, John, and his brother-in-law, Pat, both hemophiliacs whose lives were lost to the twin pandemics of AIDS and hepatitis C.
